Thank's to Marta, who scored two goals and created a third, Umeå qualified for their 7th straight cup final. "The world's best counter attack player", according to Malmö coach Jörgen Pettersson, decided an otherwise balanced game. On the other hand, Malmö had problems creating any real dangers except from set pieces. Umeå's Elaine, back from the Pan American games with maybe a little too much selfconfidence, almost gave away the match, losing the ball to Malmö's Melis at 1-1 and handballing in another tight situation, that escaped the referee.
