Djurgården/Älvsjö had most of the play, but were most of the time unable to penetrate Arsenals defense. Both coach and players were disappointed with result and play; too slow, too little movement, too many bad passes. Victoria Svensson also wanted a better attitude from the players, more dedication, in the return match in London. Still, head coach Mikael Söderman is confident: "We seldom leave the field scoreless. And one goal in London can be enough".

Is that Törnqvist in the midfield? What's that all about?
Djurgården has been playing Jane as a (defensive) midfielder in several training matches. Since Curtsdotter/Nykvist makes a good mid defense pair, the club appearently thinks her experience is more needed in the midfield. The more since Kicki Bengtsson, who by now must have tried out every single position on a football field, this season is a winger/forward.
Well, true, Bengtsson seems to have taken to her new position like a fish to water, so I shouldn't be so alarmed. But every time something changes, I worry about injury, age, etc.
Sigh. It is going to be a great shock to me when the old players, the ones that got me interested in Swedish soccer to begin with, retire.
