Pia Sundhage interviews
Greg Ryan, newly appointed head coach for USA's national team, called Pia Sundhage the other day and offered her a posotion as assistant coach. But Pia declined: "I'm so happy with the job here in Örebro. And I know I haven't said no forever. There will come more offers." Pia has a two years plus one contract with KIF Örebro. Pia's job is to, step by step, make KIF Örebro one of the top teams. The longterm goal is winning the championship 2010.
The new american players have already made a difference. The quality in training has stepped up: "Marie Hammarström [big midfield talent] is a player that often likes to be good enough on training. Training with Kristine Lilly makes a huge difference for her."
