Before the season started most predictions had Malmö FF looking forward to a troubled year - three national team players had left the club and their finances were so strained that they couldn't recruit substitutions. Today the headlines are talking about Malmö as winners, as they seem to have ran away from the rest of the league together with Umeå. Coach Anders Johansson explains that the players are both more relaxed and determined than last year. Nobody feels the pressure to win the championship - talking about the gold seems to be a big no-no with both players and coaches - but everyone is determined to show that the predictions were wrong. Djurgården/Älvsjö's coach Benny Persson's announced changes included moving Kicki Bengtsson back as left back and putting Sara Thunebro in the midfield. The Mallbacken syndrome, analyses local paper Värmlands Folkblad, is that when they play the bigger teams they can play with courage and pace, but when they play teams they should be able to defeat they drop several steps in quality.
