SEK 50 Millions in TV revenues to Damallsvenskan

The Swedish Football Association has reached a new contract regarding TV-rights for matches. For the first time the contract includes compensation for the Damallsvenskan matches, SEK 10 millions a year for 5 years.

It is not yet decided how the money will be distributed among the clubs, but one suggestion is to put some of the money aside as price money in the Swedish Cup. Umeå IK's general manager Roland Arnquist argues that the clubs that have big attendance and perform well in the league should get the most of the money. A decision will be made by the end of March.
