"Sunnanå will get renewed Damallsvenskan license"

Sunnanå Sk has submitted their financial standings per August 31 to the Swedish FA's licensing committee and expects to get their Damallsvenskan license renewed. The club's treasurer Torbjörn Bäckström tells local paper Norra Västerbotten that the club has worked hard the entire year to get their balance sheet out of the red. The SEK 847,000 deficit has turned to a small SEK 27,000 surplus. The key factors for the financial success has been Hanna Marklund's continued presence at the club (her winning the Player of the Year award 2005 has made it easier to attract sponsors) and the greatly increased TV revenues.

Sunnanå's financial statement has not yet been audited by the licensing committee. Sunnanå is one of two clubs that failed to pass the 2005 audit and hence ordered to submit new statements after 8 months. The other club is Malmö FF.
