Some comments from the Swedish side: Umeå's Lise Klaveness says that they should have decided the match in the first half, when Umeå dominated. "We were very disappointed at halftime. We knew that it would be very hard to keep up the same pressure in the second half". Coach André Jeglertz commented that the team still has trouble keeping the play up for the full 90 minutes and "we were too hurried in our attacks and too careless with our passes". Hanna Ljungberg, who played the 60 minutes her doctors allowed her, was very critical to her team at Alex Scott's late winner: "She was helped by the wind, but we were far too passive. She shouldn't have been allowed to stand completely free and shoot". She also denied that Umeå has been underestimating Arsenal: "We have been watching Arsenal closely and they were exactly as good as we expected them to be."
Before the match, Umeå and Swedish media had focused on Arsenal's strong attack, but it was their defense that decided the game. And the team was stronger than expected: "We are used to be able to run down the opposition and dominate towards the end of the match", Lise Klaveness explains, but it didn't work that way against Arsenal.
But this is just half-time, Hanna Ljungberg points out, "I am confident that we can turn this around". Lise Klaveness finishes "I'm sure we will win with more than one goal away. It might be stupid to say this, but I think we are a better side"
