Paperwork delays Ma's arrival
Umeå's management hoped that their Chinese signing Ma Xiaoxu would make her first appearence for the team in the training matches against Norwegian side Trondheim Ørn, scheduled for February 23 and 25. But the paperwork seems to take more time than expected (though, I would say, if you combine Swedish immigration authorities with Chinese bureaucracy and on top of that try to do it during the Chinese New Year festivities, it's bound to take time). "It's impossible to say if it's one week or two weeks before she arrives", says Roland Arnqvist, who is still not worried. For now it seems like Ma will be the last of Umeå's 2007 players to join the team; Elaine Moura arrived in Umeå today and Ramona Bachman will join March 1.
