UEFA Women's Cup: Umeå to final with a nil-nil draw

Umeå's coach Andrée Jeglertz had before the match declared that it wasn't possible to try and play for a nil-nil draw and his team would play their usual attacking game. But the match was much more restrained, from both sides, than the Lyon leg of the semifinal. Umeå guarded their wings much better than in the first match, allowed Olympique play around the ball in midfield, but neither side created nearly as much as they had in Lyon. Somebody said it was a boring match, but still having you sitting on needles. And it did, all the way into extra-time. Umeå seemed to have taken control the last 15 minutes of the match, but then, a little bit into extratime, Thomis came in a successfull run down the right side and passed backwards inwards to an onrushing Bompastor, who hit the far post, the by far best opportunity of the match.
Umeå got a late cancellation from Karolina Westberg that forced them to reshuffle the team. Teenage talent Emma Berglund was put in mid defense and Frida Östberg moved down from the midfield to take the position as left back. Berglund did great in 90 minutes until she lost her position at Bompastor's almost goal. And team captain Frida Östberg set the bar early in the match, making sure it would hurt trying to get past her.
