Djurgården confirms Femke Maes signing

Djurgården today announced that they have come to an agreement with Belgian national team midfielder Femke Maes. The contract is initially over the next half year, but there is an option for another year. Maes, who won the MVP award in the Dutch league where she has been playing for Willem II, is called a skilled technical player by Djurgården's coach Anders Johansson, "a kind of player that we don't see many of in Damallsvenskan".
Femke Maes will be available to play tonight in the Stockholm derby against AIK.

Djurgården has also signed Freja Hellenberg, a young defender from Alvsjö AIK, who plays on Sweden's U19 team.
