LDB Malmö signs Danish defender

It didn't take long for LDB FC Malmö to find a replacement for injured defender Malin Levenstad. Today they announced the transfer of 23 year old Danish national team defender Christina Øyangen Ørntoft. The Brøndby player, who has played every match for Denmark 2008 and just recently won the Danish championship with her club side, has signed a one and a half year long contract.
LDB's sport director Kenny Jönsson said that they have been in contact with Christina for some time, but when Malin Levenstad sustained her knee injury, they needed to speed things up. There was no transfer fee involved, since her contract with Brøndby expired. Christina Ørntoft said that she is happy to join the club and that the higher level in the Swedish league will help her develop.
