From what I have been able to piece together from the Irish audio webcast a pretty comfortable win for the Swedish side. A generelly much better Swedish side - faster, stronger, better - with a somewhat disappointing Irish performance. The first half goals were considered "very, very soft" and Irish goalkeeper Emma Byrne didn't seem to have any of her better days.

The win, Sweden's sixth in as many matches, secured the first place in the qualifying group and thus a ticket to the 2009 Championship in Finland. National team coach Thomas Dennerby said that he was completely satisfied: "We have done the job and can put this behind us", which I hope means that he's happy to focus on the Olympics, not that he wants to leave walk-over for the two remaining qualifiers this fall.
Lotta Schelin made her national team come-back, subbing in at the 60 minute mark and scoring, and said she isn't worried about making it to the Olympics. Karolina Westberg, scoring her first goals ever for Sweden in her 124th match, isn't as confident. She was picked for the team only after three other defenders had to cancel: "If he wants another type of player, there's not much I can do about it", Karro commented. "I think he was pleased with me today, but it's hard to know if that is enough for a spot in the Olympic team".
